We are looking for THE BEST Bar Manager in Saigon to lead The Deck Bar with positive, creative and hands on attitude. The Deck is one of Vietnam’s finest event venues and a regular host to celebrities and high-profile guests. Therefore, the highest service standards are expected. The Deck Bar leader is responsible for managing all bar employees, leading by example, assisting Management in building an effective team, giving direction, coordinating and evaluating department. Bar Manager must ensure that; appropriate professional standards of behaviour, work standards, productivity, working practices and customer care, are enforced.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
THE ROLE
Service
• Greet and meet all the guests with a smile and positive attitude
• You are the face of The Deck
• Make sure that The Deck Guest Experience is followed by all bar employees at all times
• Promote a helpful image to clients and give full co-operation to any customer requiring assistance with a prompt and caring attitude
• Show a professional demeanour reflecting The Deck standards at all times
• Ensure the Bar team has a complete knowledge of food and beverage menus, service standards and techniques
• Be aware of any shortfalls in standards, bring them immediately to the attention of GM and correct them
• You are responsible for everything that happens related to the bar, including all bar staff and stock
• Your role is to make sure that the bar provides great and fast service, and up sell wherever possible
• You must be aware of everything that is happening both, behind the bar and in front at the bar tables
• You must lead your team behind the bar and lead by example
• Deal with complaints appropriately
• Ensure all customers’ requests are responded to promptly and efficiently
• Be aware of daily events happening in your department and inform the team
Operation
• Attend all operational meetings
• Liaise with the Purchasing Manager for requisitions and stock levels
• Order beverages, dry goods and stationary as needed with the assistance of the Purchasing Manager
• Ensure both working and public areas are kept clean and tidy at all times and that staff adheres to departmental cleaning schedules
• Liaise with the Purchasing Manager for requisitions and stock levels
• Comply with the Rota system and ensure sufficient staffing is guaranteed based on business level
• Understand the requirements of the shifts so that guests are served quickly and effectively
• Follow guidelines regarding the control of waste in your department
Knowledge
• You must possess a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus
• You are expected to follow The Deck beverage style at all times
• Keep The Deck beverage recipe book up to date
• Put forward ideas for improving the service standards and profitability of the company
• Know how to use all equipment and POS systems in Management Level
HR and training
• Maintain effective communication within the team and other departments and attend and training sessions as required
• Train and coach the Bar Team in a systematic and professional way in order to consistently achieve service standards and product delivery
• Hold daily Bar staff briefings
• Attend or hold in the absence of Restaurant Assistant Manager and Restaurant Manager the pm restaurant briefing
• Liaise with the Chef on duty daily to discuss specials and food availability
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working days
• Working hours are 6 days a week, late nights and weekends, and public holidays depending on the businesses requirements
• All working hours and shift changes must be approved by the line manager

• Be well groomed to The Deck Group standard and wear your uniform during your working hours
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with Managers & staff throughout the business
• Demonstrate full compliance and commitment to core standards
• Comply with other reasonable request made by line manager
